Some talks I've given on fediverse stuff over the years:

Social Solutions to Social Networking, about cool stuff you can do when you're not scaling a huge platform - https://videos.theconference.se/darius-kazemi-social-solutions-to

Trust is Not Harmful, about what we mean when we talk about trust and "trustless" on fediverse vs web3 - https://vimeo.com/354276253

Squishy Amoeba-Like Objects, about topology of federated communities - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxBu5Tktm1g

The first video is probably the most "intro for a general audience" of the three.

Darius Kazemi – Social solutions to social networking

Hey #fediverse #developers, what is the most minimal #ActivityPub server project you're aware of?

By minimal I mean something quite vague. You might understand it in terms of lines of code, or complexity, or feature set, it is up to you.

Please reply with a link and boost if you're also interested in knowning more.

The video of the November 17th session “Spatial Canvasses Part 3” is up.

#introductions Am pleased to join Mastodon and @indieweb.social in particular. I teach and research at London School of Economics, and see the Fediverse as the starting-point of a fundamentally new approach to social media and building solidarity. Look forward to being part of this exciting movement.
So I'm looking to set up a collaborative "digital garden" for NDC (not a fan of this term, but anyways) and I'm currently playing with #tiddlywiki, but am finding myself pretty frustrated at the lack of even basic user account support so that @hecceite, @lightli and I can post stuff together. Are there any other promising options?

I've been using #AnnotatedEquations in my recent papers. I think it really adds to the readability and understanding of the math.

Here are some examples. It uses #tikz in #latex.

Let me know if you like it. Happy for any feedback.

I do think one can think well without writing well, because in specific domains where we have initially evolved written notation to externalize thought, like music, we have also evolved past that into other visual & interactive representations (like the piano roll).
