@hrbrmstr I had to talk my previous org out of purchasing gear like this, even when the price and features were great. There was an insider trade mag that reversed firmware and found all sorts of goodies. They can be legitimately difficult to constrain on a network.

@hrbrmstr these have been banned in the US Gov. for a while, but it's easy to pick up an Amcrest camera on Amazon. My local testing these things do all sorts of bananas beaconing out of the box, and it's hard to tell just based on the supplier.

@busterb @hrbrmstr my big concern about these is ‘private labelling’. How many of these cameras are on the market with a different name stamped on them?
