I live in Murfreesboro, TN with my husband. We are big nature and animal lovers.

I'm hoping to make new friends and connect with people who are likeminded.

My interests include reading, Muay Thai, walking, nature, books, vegetarian cooking, LGBTQ, Eastern Spirituality, and cats.

@pathfinder @actuallyautistic I didn't realize I was autistic until I was 40. It was def a very disregulating thing to learn about oneself at such a late age.
@futurebird I'd love that too. I've been into portal fantasy lately
@Adventurer I had a lot of nice responses from people today. I'll follow all of them back. I'm thankful for Mastodon today. It's already been much more helpful for my mental health than FB has been in over a decade.

Neverending Story, Narnia, Alice In Wonderland, etc. That sort of thing.

I'm reading this neat series now called the Wayward Children series. The first book is "Every Heart A Doorway" by Seanan McGuire. It's interesting. So far this girl is at a school/support facility for children who have visited other worlds but returned.

It's interesting so far. It already has some LGBTQ+ representation too, which I appreciate.

I feel like I'm slowly dying inside. I don't feel like any of my friends care about me. The interactions with them is mostly superficial. I want to have deep conversations and connect, but I'm not finding that it's happening.

I know I have some major #ptsd from failed friendships and it's very very hard for me to trust people now. I'm #autistic and #adhd.

I just wish I felt like I belonged somewhere.

This feels like Facebook to me. I post things and use tags, but no one sees or responds to anything. Am I doing something wrong?

@MsMerope There is a community garden in the summer. I might look into that. As a child I like to play with bugs and wander around the woods.

I've tried a few times to attend church over the last few years. I'm not #christian but living in the south I often feel that is my only way to make connections with people or have any community.

I think I'm finally realizing, however, that I have way too much #ptsd from past negative experiences.

Do you all have any advice on how to find community in a more conservative area when I'm pretty #liberal?

@adhd_coffee I have so many of those things you listed. Yeah... I just don't have much interest in talking to people if they aren't willing to listen to other people's experiences.
