@chockenberry @rmondello I'm pretty well seated in the iEcosystem, but Passwords' remarkably bad UX, notably terrible accessibility, and dramatically poor interoperability lost me early on. So grateful for the x-platform wizardry of 1password.

Uhhh, you're gonna wanna watch this. Ethiopian/French band covers Black Sabbath, without guitar.

@Christian_Freiherr_von_Wolff I'm guessing this is the reason yr profile says -1 followers, and not some wacky scripting trick designed to confound the almostnoscript curious kitties from scrolling through yr feed to find clues.

Have you used 1password at all?
I'm infosec literate, but not proficient (came to it by necessity following an outlandish blackhat nightmare 2010-11).

I have been looking through your (generous and useful 🙏🏽) writeups here & privacyguide. I left LP after the big breach became public ~> 1PW (because fastmail alias integration).

How is KeepassXC for crossplatform and automating storage of new OTP auth/passkeys/physical key interfaces?

Do you know how one might verify just how far 1Password goes 24/7/365 on their blueteam investments/skills/staffing/employee job satisfaction/education/investments/pentesting and audits?

I know enough to know that nothing is impenetrable, I'm just trying to figure out which has the perfect balance of being convenient enough for me to convince 8 low-tech-literacy-but-high-tech-PII-risk family members to comply but not being ridiculously reckless and stupid and irresponsible like Lastpass was.

Stay Safe, but Stay Connected

Balancing data protection and online connection can be difficult. Nevertheless, it's an essential skill to be able to stay safe online while staying connected.

@mateoptmd it's pretty frickin ironic that you link to broligarchy technocrat YT instead of a peertube video or at least vimeo instead of G-evil services. 😢
Only could happen in this time: protest songs that appeal to multiple political views, almost on the daily. Lowkey genius Appalachian singer-songwriter out of Arkansas named Jesse Welles. Here's just one of his wows: https://youtu.be/0QVAbJfBqYU

@misc @inquiline @codinghorror @drahardja I'm low income, but I've found idrive for backup and nextcloud hosted on thegood.cloud to be very affordable. I also sync onlyoffice to that nextcloud instance, as the onlyoffice mobile apps are quite nice. I'm thinking that cryptpad might be better for my personal cloud diary, however. :-) not that that answers your specific needs, though

@codinghorror @drahardja Google bent over and licked the ring for the PRC a long time ago. Don't count on them to fight fascist demands (especially when the Trusk in chief are so swift to get vindictive in takedowns when they encounter resistance). There's a reason Google C-Suite paid to be invited to stand behind Trusk at the inaug.

They don't even wait for subpoenas or notices to arrive before giving up data on users, and it's been like that since at least 2001.
