I know the people on stage get all the credit, but let’s hear it for those unsung festival heroes: the sound techs, the bar staff, the cleaners, and most importantly the people who shut the fuck up and do not talk to me while the band is playing.

@girlonthenet Hell yeah! I've gotten so cross at festivals before for this reason.

"Surely listening to the music is, like, THE point of being there? So STFU. Also that better bloody well not be piss I can feel splashing around my feet."

Obviously, I only shout this inside my head.

Still, love a good festival.

I've just tried some of Elvis Costello's new Mediterranean sausages. They were delicious. I think olive salami is here to stay.
@benjamingeer @mhoye the only good diff is a red diff!
"look the computer can generate more code faster" the world absolutely does not need or want more code, nothing needs more code for the sake of code, we need utility, functionality and empathy, an encoded understanding of the problem being solved and the humans around it. Code is the price we pay for that encoded understanding. What you've created is an entropy spigot pointed at the proxy metric graph you’re stuck using because your management doesn't understand anything.
@CenturyAvocado I'm sorry to hear that, internet friend.

A few years ago, at least twice a week someone posted the rotating, extending wooden table gif to the fediverse, because they saw it for the first time and were fascinated by it. It became a bit annoying, but it has recently disappeared from the fediverse, it seems. I kinda miss being annoyed by it. So. Here it is again :)

Originally known as a Jupe table, named after the inventor Robert Jupe, who patented it in 1835.

This is the Fletcher Capstan table: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyZYQ_rhBPs

@fesshole Must have been a bloody energetic wank. Good on ya.

Love this new sign on the Clyde Walkway, but it definitely falls into the Keep Glasgow Weird category. It's one of a number of signs inspired by Science Fiction movies around the city's Science Centre created by A Sign of Humour.

NOT A DRILL: there is a new Tim Hunkin video.
