@allenholub How do you manage agile budgeting? It's reasonable for a stakeholder to say, "I want scope X. How much and how long?". At the start we're at the widest point of uncertainty. I don't think we can answer (esp. on a RFP), "with a team size of X our monthly burn rate is $Y. Give us 3 months and we can see where we land." Business still wants fixed cost and/or time, so scope is always what you have to wrangle. So contracts aren't written based on, "see where we land in x months." How do you manage this? Or better yet, are there any enlightening books/articles/blogs on this topic. It is something I struggle with daily.

The GOP is in a bind. If Trump doesn’t win the nomination, he will likely run as a third party candidate.

You can’t ride the tiger, Republicans. It will always turn back and eat you.

God Pod

After 6000 years of running the universe, God realized that Satan is kicking his butt, like, really bad. Over the centuries and despite lots of trying, God has not been able to smite the forces of evil. So, he started a podcast to do just that. Full of fun and heart, the God Pod is a bi-weekly opportunity for God to hang out with his fellow deities and maybe even meet some interesting humans. NEW EPISODES EVERY MONDAY AND THURSDAY Follow the God Pod on Apple, Spotify or your favorite podcast app. The God Pod: Have it Yahweh! https://thegodpodcast.com/

imagining a terminal emulator with sticky-scrolling, so if a command's output would push the command itself off the top of the screen, that command gets pinned to the top of the screen instead
I like the Ship-Show-Ask mentality for PRs to transition to TBD. To commit code either push to main or raise a "ship" PR and merge it right away. To demo some code, raise a "show" PR, and merge it right away. Or if needed raise an "ask" PR and get reviews and approvals before merging. #coding #agile #PRs #DevOps #BestPractices
Democrats introduce constitutional amendment to reverse Citizens United campaign finance ruling

A group of House Democrats introduced a constitutional amendment on Thursday to overturn a Supreme Court ruling that eliminated restrictions on corporate campaign spending. The Supreme Court’s 2010 ruling in the Citizens United v. FEC case prohibited the government from restricting political campaign spending by companies, nonprofit organizations and unions. This amendment, if passed, would…

Nick Cave, Paul Krugman, Sarah Firisen, and the "grotesque mockery" of ChatGPT

Like me, Nick Cave thinks ChatGPT is bullshit, as he wrote on seeing "a song in the style of Nick Cave" written by ChatG...

What we should all recognize from the debacle of #georgesantos lying his ass off yet still getting elected is that local journalism is gutted. This is the kind of story local media would have disclosed weeks before an election, but now our news is almost all national and syndicated so small fish are getting away with all manner of bullshit undetected. We should think of this one crooked politician as the proverbial tip of the iceberg and be concerned.
