A blog about things that I care about.

Mostly knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitching, sewing and other types of handicrafts.

I also post my drawings, paintings and digital art here (when the wind of inspiration turns in that direction again).

I also share my thoughts. Controversial or political ones will be hidden so that they do not bother anyone.

So... it's moving, but it's moving quite slowly, because the thought has occurred to me that without a car and a driver's license it will be an extremely difficult challenge: to leave my country. Not even because of clothes, a computer, yarn or other things that I like to have. But because of my cat. She is a very nervous girl, and a few days on a bus will be torture for everyone. And even when I leave... I don't expect an easy life. I don't even know where we will go and decide to stay. But with a car it will be much easier for her.
The medical examination was exhausting, a lot of useless actions for a lot of money, but I did it.
Now I am preparing for the traffic rules exam. It is easy. But it is difficult to pass, because I have to go to another city. And wait many, many, many endless hours for my turn. However, I can do some knitting there.
The main thing is that there is no air raid alarm and we are not thrown out into the street.

I have been working on a silk shirt for the last few days. Tussah silk is a very interesting material, it looks and feels very similar to wool. I hope the other characteristics will be like silk, otherwise I will have to buy more yarn and make long sleeves.

Finished home socks from a very unusual yarn. It was very interesting and fast.

These socks are done. I'm happy to move the tutorial file to the "Done" folder. I bought it almost a year ago and started to think I'd never make them.

My work in progress. I am so glad that I finally started knitting socks using this tutorial.

Not perfect, but good enough. Yes, the wool is rustic and scratchy. Exactly what I expected and wanted.

I started knitting a vest from Dundaga wool. Don't know yet what will come of it, because I did the calculations myself and they are very approximate.

This was my first project in a tutorial in English. To be honest, it was not an easy project. I don't understand why the easy part is overcomplicated, and the difficult part is not described enough. Why is it described row by row, but there is no algorithm?

I am especially curious if a whole row is exactly the same as the previous one, is there really no special term for this in English?

I still think this is a perfect project for the yarn I got for my birthday (Cardiff Cashmere Classic), the design is excellent, but the knitting process could be much simpler.

P.S. I love this imitation cord, the perfect border for a scarf.

P.P.S. This is Paul Scarf by Maschenfein

I've been trying to finish this bag for the last few days. The crochet part is already done, I'll take a few days off before I start sewing the lining.
