we’re getting some consistent open garden hours going!
someone will be around on Fridays and Saturdays this month, tending to the garden, working on projects, and happy to answer questions or visit with neighbors. foundseed open garden hours are welcome to anyone, to come by, help out, donate, or sit on our rug with us.
We plan to do a biochar lesson this Saturday, after dusk, so come by if you want to learn! 🌱

Third spaces are gathering spots that are not homes, or work. public parks. community rec centers. libraries. spaces that ask nothing of those who visit.
during the first civil rights movement (and all historical insurgencies), third spaces were critical for organizing and community building. ever since then, the colonial state and corporations have been cutting into those third spaces more explicitly.

It always gives me pause when politicians decry a topic such as Covid vaccines or Palestinian liberation "becoming political". Of all people, they should know: everything is political. If you are born disabled, racialized, feminized, or queer, your very existence is politicized. Politics is the mechanism through which we regulate our societies. It affects all lives, and all aspects of life.
So what does someone MEAN when they say an issue is "political"?
