Its disgusting that the government takes advantage of how much teachers care about teaching the next generation.

Chalkies strike is big. Victorian teachers are striking because the supposedly left-wing state and federal governments don't think public education is worth funding properly. We need to chuck Labor in the bin and elect some real progressives.

In the words of Housing Minister Clare O’Neil: “We’re not trying to bring down house prices…That may be the view of young people, [but] it’s not the view of our government.”

Likewise, Anthony Albanese made clear that because of his new housing policy called the First Home Guarantee that: “There will be a slight increase in prices”.

Indeed, during the last election, both the PM and then-Opposition Leader Peter Dutton clarified that they wanted house prices to keep rising, with the former Leader of the Liberal Party saying he wanted house prices to “increase steadily.”

To be clear, neither the banks, the property speculators nor the Albanese Government want house prices or rents to fall.

When we talk about a ‘housing crisis’ in Australia, we need to be clear that Australia does not have a ‘shortage of housing’ crisis, but an ‘access to housing’ crisis.

Inside Israel, “there is no room for any question marks or doubts about this war,” says journalist Gideon Levy, a columnist for Haaretz and a member of the newspaper’s editorial board. He says war fever has taken over the country, with polls showing 93% support for the U.S.-Israeli war in Iran, Lebanon and beyond — at least among the Jewish public. “Israel is doing as much as it can,” he says. “As long as the American support is so massive, so blind and so automatic, this will go on.” Levy also criticizes Israel’s military censorship system that strictly limits publishing information about war damage and other material deemed to be counter to national security. He says much of it is driven by self-censorship by a press that sees itself as “an agency of the government and of the military establishment, and this is very worrying.”
