🥄 I finally finished spoonie-friendly notepad. It makes it easy to keep track of reminders, tasks, medications—whatever you want—but it prioritizes your top three items for low capacity days.

My Spell Slots To-Do List notepad goes live in my shop on tomorrow (04/17), so stay tuned!

I’m working on a D&D inspired to do list for people with limited “spell slots.” I like the direction it’s going, but it feels off balance towards the left. Any ideas for how to fix it?

@ThornPuck It seems to have a general perspective point in the middle of the piece, which seems to be where you want it for the viewer to scroll. The variety of shapes and angles helps break up the perspective, so you don't have any sharp through lines that make it look forced.

"Fangirling" gets a bad rap. It's way too gendered and limiting for my taste. Everyone gets excited about their favorite things, but "fangirling" ties our excitement to the false narrative of women as overly emotional and silly.

What if we could choose another verb? What would broader experiences could it exude? How would that shift our perception of fandom? What new word do you think we should use?

@admin @Tabby yay for weird problems, but thank you for fixing it!
@mienaiKnife Sounds like you need to find a way to the nearest cat cafe. All the floof, no personal responsibility.
@MouseAT @USSJoshuaNorton @Angelinelasa Yeah, the story at the diner was how I was introduced to the idea (linked below). “Spoons” is a weird unit of measurement in any other context, but the struggle is finding a good word that universally conveys the idea to anyone that hasn't directly experienced or thought about variations in physical or mental capacity. “Spell slots” or “Mana” great if you know your audience are gamers, but it doesn't make sense for everyone. *shrug*

Can you love a fandom without loving all the parts of it?

#DoctorWho has frequently kept women to the role companion—never the as Doctor.—until Jodie Whittaker. Now, #NcutiGatwa is set to play the next Doctor—and will be the first person of color to do so.

When we recognize the parts of fandom we love, it doesn't diminish the less-than-stellar side of things, but it allows us to advocate for changes that will make fandom more inclusive, positive, and beautiful to enjoy for everyone.
@USSJoshuaNorton @Angelinelasa I’m sorry you had a crappy night. 🥴 I typically use “bandwidth” or simply “capacity,” but it doesn't fully capture the push and pull—or the uncontrollable randomness—of chronic conditions, but “spell slots” comes closer. I use “spell slots” with my husband particularly when I’m all out of decision making capacity... unfortunately, I'm often so far in the weeds that I don't realize my spell slots are gone to communicate that well. 😅
