A conceptual portable computer and communications system designed by Honeywell for Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1968.

It has a lightpen (vs uninvented mouse) and a camera.

Sadly it didn't make it into the final cut of the movie!

Me: “A credit card just proves you know someone with a credit card”

Another good reason to write #imagedescriptions :

You will look more closely at the image and be less likely to be tricked by an AI generated image. This is also the case for finding the attribution for images where possible.

Folks, this is a perfectly accurate description of getting a PhD studying space.

When I was a teen and starting at university, I remember the browser wars seemed lost in the 1990s.

Microsoft and Internet Explorer seemed to dominate. Nowadays I'm on Linux and there are other options.

That's thanks to folks not accepting the status quo and being unreasonable. It's thanks to the folks who built the software we use and who supported them.

Things can change, but it takes people and community.

It takes will and intention.

You need to be honest about where you stand.

Interviewer: Can you perform under pressure?

Me: I can do the Bowie part, but I don't have the upper range to sing the Freddie part.

it seems like more people need to be acquainted with the phrase:

"you cannot reason someone out of something they were not reasoned into"

if reason and rationale dont work, getting louder about it wont help.

you have to change your tactic.

This will be helpful if I ever have to go against a Sicilian when death is on the line
