Tried to factory reset my #MSI #gaming laptop last night. Simple process, F3 on boot to load the reset manager, and follow the prompts. Easy!
It wiped the #windows AND revovery partitions, then failed, saying to try again using the recovery DVD.
WHAT FUCKING DVD, there isn't one, or even a DVD drive. The recovery program just went and wiped the recovery partition where the recovery files were. What the actual fuck MSI??
Used a windows iso on usb, so its sorted now, but still.. Just Wow!! 🤬

In short, because #Eightpoint refuse to block a former admin, outed as a serial rapist from their instance. This harbouring of a sexual predator is putting their community and the wider #fediverse at risk, which goes against #techlgbt's standards for safety & ethics.
I personally agree with the defederating, and think until Eightpoint take a firm public stance against these kinds of things, other instances should follow Tech's lead.
