Cedilla - A markdown text editor for the COSMIC™ desktop, has been released on Flathub.

Hi, today I'm announcing a new app I've made for COSMIC™. Cedilla is a simple Markdown text editor that supports HTML and Markdown. Markdown is converted to HTML using comrak. HTML is parsed using html5ever, from the Servo project. The resulting DOM is rendered directly to libcosmic widgets using a custom renderer.

I have pushed failed update for my Quick Web Apps app. I did not test it properly even if I though I did.

Today pushed an update which resolve this issue and Quick Web Apps should works properly.

Also made use of new engine, now instead of WebKitGTK we are using CEF which should works as embedded chromium engine. WebApps should works for most of the website, including Microsoft Teams, etc.

The only issue here could be DRM but I think I will be able to include support for it in the future.

The next months of COSMIC development is dedicated to polishing up the experience. Frosted glass, gaming improvements, printer settings, and Wacom tablet support are on the horizon with more to come.

My #ubuntu ppa for #cosmic desktop #linux is actively updated, latest update is from yesterday and points to 1.0.4-epoch :)

I also cleaned it from third-party dependencies. So it's no longer updating wayland and mesa packages. They are in different repositories. If you need newer wayland, you can find it here: https://launchpad.net/~hepp3n/+archive/ubuntu/wayland-backports :)

@terts Yes I did it already :) Thanks!

@mmstick @terts

Thanks, you were right. Pinning helps. I was shocked since this update comes in the same time Terts asked ^^ I updated dependencies. Also trying to prepare some flatpak build.

@terts I think you trying to build just a `applet` right? You have to build whole workspace and applet will be result of this. I just moved ashpd dependency from applet only to workspace since today I started using it in library. After cloning `kdeconnect` repository, from the root of it, follow README instruction. Don't enter applet directory and build, i will fix this mess :)

Also please, if we can continue on Github issues would be nice. So more people will see it perhaps. And thanks :)

@terts Sure, please! :)

I will make a flatpak package later for COSMIC flatpak repo, but need to at least have basic functionality working, so it's worth for daily driving.

It's like a prototype for now haha

I updated today KDE Connect applet for #cosmic desktop.

We can now send and receive files PC <-> Phone.
Getting notifications Phone -> PC
Pinging PC <-> Phone
Also some basic info from Mpris PC -> Phone

Pairing works but not perfect, however I don't have much issue with it.

If you want to test, please check my repo: https://github.com/hepp3n/kdeconnect

Any feedback is welcome :)

btw. I have also a website haha

Want to make blog, but not ready yet ^^

@formula Well, mostly GNOME devs responses are not most diplomatic either :) of course if they are not agree with some decision.

But I don't care about GNOME and their devs. Just found your post interesting :)
