How the training data is acquired and how the outputs are used is mostly a technofeudal neoreactionary anti-worker project to extract value without recompense.

A lot of people are falling for it.

Some are even self-aware.

Don't suppose anyone I know via fedi is a Senior EM or Director in the USA or Canada and is looking for a role?

I have a globally distributed team of about 25 engineers and 2 EMs who are in need of a new leader (for good reasons, the existing one is moving to another team). The tech is Go, distributed database on object storage... but it is a high stress role, the team are good but this is one of the big sources of revenue and with that comes the associated pressure which we do our best to manage... it's a challenging role for a distributed systems team.

It often feels like a lesson the fedi never learned is that it’s just as important to give energy to the things you want to see in the world as it is to the stuff you hate. Probably more important in these days and times.

Sure, there is plenty of stuff I could spend days ranting about because I have very strong feelings about a lot of things.

But what keeps me balanced is putting that level of energy or more into projects and efforts that stand in opposition to the things I am against.

The need for performing that angst fades the more action I take.

It seems like many people here feel like the performance is the point and not the action it should inspire if one really feels that strongly about it.

1. Your voice doesn't need to be heard. In fact, realizing that you don’t HAVE to have an opinion on everything and voice opinions or ideas in meetings or social gatherings, is amazingly liberating. You can actually just shut up, and relieve yourself of all that effort and stress. Let Bob utter his embarrassingly dumb idea, let Shirley have a say. You can just let it be for the most part
