I have been blacksmithing a while and live in the Pacific Northwest. I'll be posting about what I'm making, ideas of things to make, things related to metal working, and occasionally about what's happening in the PNW.

I speak English, can speak French, Norwegian, and Italian pretty well, and am pretty OK reading/writing Swedish, Danish, and Spanish. Feel free to write to me in any of these languages.

Has anybody in Western #Cascadia ever grown lentils? Please, tell me about it!

i'm not sure that i'm the kind of person to busk, but that is cool! it looks fun
@scandigonian i also like the portability of the tin whistle. i won't be that guy playing music in public, but if i'm alone in the smithy and have 30 mins to wait for forge to heat up or whatever, it could be a good time to play
@scandigonian fair enough! it seemed like a good starter instrument, perhaps less complicated than a full-on accordion.
@scandigonian i'm curious why you're anti-concertina?
@ShaulaEvans I've been doing this for years specifically for topics I'm well versed in and want to be able to speak about in the target language.
I know these are atypical choices, but that's part of the fun.
I have been thinking about picking up music again. I grew up playing the piano, but now I want to try something new. Which should I do?

@yngmar that's super cool. ever since i saw john switzer's youtube series on making a gate, i've wanted to make one. this one looks a lot more approachable than john's super ornate gate (playlist below).
