color-mix() - CSS: Cascading Style Sheets | MDN

The color-mix() functional notation takes two <color> values and returns the result of mixing them in a given colorspace by a given amount.

color-mix is a really cool #css function that is way to underused.

It is very useful to transform colors (like lighten, darken, add opacity). Like in this example, where I darken the accent color to use it as the text color of the selection.

Available in all major browsers.
