@jblake I have heard so many good things about BeOS, but sadly I have never used it thus far. Maybe I will play with it this weekend!

A more accurate-ish macOS mass storage icon.

@geerlingguy someone’s been busy!
Also in tandem with my Framework Mainboard cluster testing, I've released a new tool for testing open source clustered AI solutions like Exo, llama.cpp RPC, and distributed-llama: https://github.com/geerlingguy/beowulf-ai-cluster

I tested four Framework Desktop Mainboards with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (what a mouthful!) in a private AI cluster.

I've published *ALL* my test results (including testing the new gpt-oss-20b and 120b models, as well as giant LLMs across the full cluster), links are in the video description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5xhOqlvRh4

@marioguzman @kalleboo wow I 100% agree, this icon is awesome.

@BasicAppleGuy I'm ok with the redesign, as others have said, no one uses spinning drives anymore unless its a NAS.

My only issue is the icon seems to be a USBC external drive?

@loop0 that would last me for a whole week! 😝

Jeremy Jones recalls:

"What Steve Hain and I had written in a basement, was now good enough for former Xerox PARC scientists, Larry Tesler and Alan Kay, as well as Steve Capps and Steve Sakoman to tell John Sculley to buy Coral Software and create Ralph/Dylan for Newton. I remember sitting in the bank waiting for the $1.75 million bank transfer from Apple. Waiting. Then the bank folks came over and said, ’It’s done. It’s there.’

I’ve been doing classic Mac dev on a G4 w/ MacOS 9.2, and today I went ahead and tested compatibility with older MacOS versions, starting with 7.0 up

The testing crashed on some extremely obvious bugs, like forgetting to set the GrafPort and calling the wrong OS method to update windows; issues OS 9 completely ignored

Really made me appreciate how much hidden work went into MacOS 9 to make the OS more resilient against misbehaving apps to keep them from crashing
