Wat een briljante tip
I think barring some exceptions #RussellTDavies is a writer who works better at a lower budget. I think this is the key difference between RTD1 and RTD2. Budget restrictions for the writing to be more displined. I rewached series 1 recently and what struck me is the how much less vfx there is compared to #DoctorWho now. In 2005 writing a big CGI dog anatognist would have been a lot more expensive and not really feasable so the writing instead prioritised on character.
The first wave of tech made information free.
The second made attention scarce.
The third makes reality optional.

@heejeroen "But it's 30Β°C outside!"
@judgyweevil you might have sun allergy
@heejeroen This assumes unsociable people are one coat away from passing as ready to go outside at all times. I dispute that. Unsociable people don't dress like that, it is one of the key benefits of being unsociable
@heejeroen @nblr People who know me, know I never leave the house.
@heejeroen failure scenario: β€œOh, where are you going? I can walk with you!”
@heejeroen As I was going to St. Ives, I met... an unsociable man?
@heejeroen In hot climates, sunglasses and a hat can serve the same way - nobody wears sunglasses inside unless perhaps they have migraines.
