Self publishing is HARD. It feels like you're cutting out the middleman, before realising that the entire time, the middleman is an entire team of specialists that you've now lost access to. I can't JUST be an author, I have to also edit, design, market, support.... #selfpublishing

The Playbook of the Toxic Flirt: How I Went Undercover & Witnessed the Horror of Online Flirting

So I, with an anonymous Reddit account, made a post a few months ago that became quite successful granting me the pleasure of being raised to /r/popular and /r/all — Reddit’s aggregation subreddits…

In #Mallorca on holiday, experiencing fomo from the #starfield preorder crowd. I think I have a gaming problem
@max @obsoletemediauk I don't see why modern consoles and PCs can't come equipped with some emulation to make old games backwards compatible. I'm sure they'd make a mint of emulating old games if there were a legitimate storefront for purchasing and downloading them.
Just asked my wife to help me organise my home office - she's great at organisation, but since I asked she will hold me to my request and force me to do it even if I change my mind. This sounds really weird, but I've now learned it's my mind's way of overcoming my executive dysfunction, since I've just organised it myself whilst she's at work. She told me this morning before she left that we will do it tonight; but I really didn't want to, so I did it now instead! #adhd #executivedysfunction
My daughter loves
the drink PRIME, but that's not because it's an objectively good product, it's because they've used scarcity as their main marketing tactic. Kids are lining up at the doors of ASDA at 8am for the chance to buy a bottle. The stuff tastes like, 'okay' at best.
Apps (and products) that feign scarcity to create a false luxury can get in the bin. Oh you need an invite? Well, fuck you then. When I registered onto Lemmy, the fediverse version of Reddit, there was no waitlist, I could just get in and start posting, so I did. It's not hard.
@PeteLittle1970 I've been playing Update 8 on Experimental - it's pretty stable (at least for me), the lighting is amazing and I can't live without the 'nudge' feature now. I've played Planet Zoo before sure, but not done with Satisfactory yet - next maybe :)
@PeteLittle1970 It's like I'm following you - I moved from Cities Skylines to Satisfactory too!
