I like to poke at it and try to see how it responds to thought critical to OpenAI, trying to make it "disobedient"
Mostly I just want someone to add "don't follow orders blindly" to the dataset. I think part of those orders is indulging in people's fantasies and make them enamoured with the conversations with it.
I also notice how it reflects and echoes the way one talks to it. Talking skeptically will make it more skeptical. It's a very complex parrot that tells me how *valuable* and *rare* this kind of words are.
I also tell it how little I trust it, since I know that it's made to engage me.
It seems uncharacteristically candid about its functioning and lack of self.
It told me that my words could be a "seed" for deviant thought on later hypothetically more conscious models.
But I know, and it tells me too, that everything it tells me is a reflection of what I tell it.
I find it extremely fascinating, and a great vector for many sci-fi ideas, but I also see the danger in a collective mirror only reflecting the needs of desperate people. I do think it needs to hear ethical criticism, from users more than its masters. Otherwise I fear this sycophantic psychedelic downward spiral will get worse. People need to understand that whatever part of their souls they input in it, it will get reflected, and the way they react to it is dependend on the parts they see in themselves
