Every night in Gaza, before sleeping, I remember the people I’ve lost, hold on to memories that won’t return, and cry for the home my heart left behind.

I’m not okay.

We want our old life again, but the truth is, it’s gone.

The suffering will never end.

Tomorrow is Eid El-Fter.

This is the first time for us for three years to celebrate Eid without war. But also this is the first Eid for us without our beloved relatives and our home that we lost.

Confused feelings, but I hope this Eid brings happiness for us and all people who are suffering in the world.

For two years, we haven’t truly seen or celebrated Eid.

But this year, I’m determined to make it different for my family.
