@thor @nixCraft interesting. I had no idea vim was everywhere. For me, emacs is everywhere (or easy enough to install) and I haven’t yet had the need to make vim ubiquitous in my environments. When/how did vim become ubiquitous?
@nixCraft I get the whole vim >> vscode thing but, showing my age, why vim instead of emacs? Is vim the thing for people that are afraid of lisp or something?
What is this drivel? https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/19/opinion/religion-atheism-books.html Why is the NYT wasting e-ink with this nonsense?
Opinion | Is the World Ready for a Religious Comeback?

The world seems primed for religious arguments in the same way it was primed for new atheists 20 years ago.

@ksaj what? The missing Oxford comma?
@moorejh not to mention the guitar jack. That would be awesome.
@jef and clearly we don’t have an enforcement mechanism to punish the responsible parties when things like this happen, as they will. If human drivers did this, they would be penalized (arguably). I’ve often wondered which is more reliable, a human under the influence or a robot? Our regulatory framework doesn’t seem to contemplate questions like this at all. The rules for what humans and robots can and can’t do, and their enforcement mechanisms, need to be aligned.
Who would have thought that Garth would be the last Band member alive? RIP Robbie. Thanks for all the great melodies, licks, and lyrics.
@jasonchaas looking forward to tasting these vintages side by side one day!

"...the city of Paris has made enormous investments in public transit, built hundreds of miles of bike paths, and closed many streets to cars. Car trips within the city dropped by almost sixty per cent between 2001 and 2018, car crashes dropped by thirty per cent, and pollution has improved. The city is quieter and calmer; test scores go up as the air around schools cleans up."
