Ever wonder what the point of it is?

Build more roads? Get more car traffic
Build more light rail? Get more light rail passengers (fewer personal vehicles)
Build more safe cycling infrastructure? Get more cyclists (fewer personal vehicles)
Make other public transport more convenient, cheaper and accessible? Get more people using it!

It’s not fucking brain surgery

It's SO fashionable to slag the UK off these days and it's become easy to forget what a stunning place it is to live, or just visit

Let me introduce you to the UK - WillCycle

There are people who love to slag off the UK, pointing at miserable weather, bland food, and numerous sea-side resorts that are well past their sell-by date. Don't listen to them! Sure, the UK does get a lot of rain, but that's why it's so lush, green and filled with rivers. If you think British

I'm a #driver (albeit low mileage & rural), but I don't want #RishiSunak to be on my side... what I want is some leadership to start to do something more about the #climatecrisis - I would have thought it would be the absolute priority for anyone who cared about their country..... oh, hold on
Amsterdam's city council voted to shut down the city's cruise terminal to reduce mass tourism.
The city: Yes, the cruise ships do bring in €100 million per year, but half of that is for their fossil fuel suppliers here. And they cause a lot of air travel to and from Amsterdam.
"In a quality city, a person should be able to live their entire life without a car, and not feel deprived."
The evidence that cars don’t work as primary mass transport in cities is everywhere: traffic jams, air pollution, accident rates, the shocking fraction of city space taken up by parking spaces, safety barriers/bollards etc. This 100 year experiment should be declared over, and we should put proper effort into the systems that HAVE been shown to work and scale: walking, cycling, e-cargo bikes, cheap/accessible/reliable public transport. This β€œargument” about LTNs is just lazy delay. #LTN #cities

"We have noted before that this is the fastest ride to zero-carbon; almost anyone can ride an e-bike for six miles under almost any conditions. If there were safe places to ride and secure places to park, then millions of car trips could be avoided, and millions of cars taken off the road"

It's Time For Everyone to Stop Ignoring E-Bikes

Find out why it's crucial for reports to focus on the potential of e-bikes.

#NYTimes you know who's more dangerous than a teenager on an #ebike?
Literally every single person behind the wheel of a #car.

The problem is the #cars. It's always been the cars.

Never forget, if you plan cities for cars and traffic, you get cars and traffic. If you plan cities for people and places, you get people and places.

Plan for the city you want.
