Don’t get me wrong, please do stay home if you’re sick. We had a 5 day hospital stay with my kid because of something she picked up (probably at school) recently, but my goodness, this system doesn’t work. We (and many families) need two incomes, but two full time, year round incomes has not been possible for us since covid.

My kid has been low-grade sick basically non-stop since August. I’m told this is normal, and how human children build their immune systems.
Except, in our new, stay the heck home if you have covid symptoms which are the same as cold symptoms, that means that we can rarely send her to preschool or do social things.

I feel like I ought to post about my professional interests some, as conversations with fellow tech folks is something I’d like to have here. But honestly? I’m just so tired. I have had about 2 weeks of childcare in all of November and December.

Did you know covid is STILL disproportionate affecting working parents seriously, and is disproportionately affecting moms? It makes me angry, to be honest. We’re still left behind.

It’s my first time doing half homemade #sufganiyot and I will be doing it again. So easy and so good. I bought donut holes and jam, and used a pastry bag to fill the donut holes with jam. Happy #Hannukah #Channukah #Chanukah
