@usluck exactly.
@fennix @12thRITS @suldrew @polpo the usual average user complained about their floppies suddenly failing after working fine for two years.

Should be interesting to see how Competent Administration vs Competent Man plays out in #Argentina #FloridaMan

"The Reaganite insistence that governments are, by their very nature, incompetent and malign ("The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I’m from the government, and I’m here to help'"), means that conservatives deny the *possibility* of a Competent Administration."

"When conservatives take office and proceed to bungle the most basic elements of administration, they're fulfilling their own campaign narrative, which starts with "We must dismantle the government because it is bad at everything." Conservatives who govern badly prove their own point, which explains a lot about the UK Tory Party's long run of governmental failure and electoral success:"

@gruber I know someone who had to set up some common rooms at a public university after these iMacs had been out for awhile. He got a really good deal on the orange ones at the student bookstore.

Reminds me of J Scott’s “Sororities and the husband game” from 1965. ( for you scholars that’s https://doi.org/10.1007/BF02806110 )
Biggest changes are the move to being more public and using TikTok.

I shared this privately before, but I just got the okay to share it in public. The Bluegrass Archive is online with a website and everything. This is a MASSIVE trove of legal live #bluegrass recordings from earliest days right up to now, which you can download and listen to for free. It is one of the greatest achievements of the fan-driven #music archiving community I've ever seen. I contributed a small number of filesets out of the thousands here. #music
