Same time when my my photo exhibiton starts there also starts very nice festival (and very nearby - only 500 metres distance from the gallery!) in Turku:

Punx for Seitan Fest, the queer feminist and anti-capitalist vegan punk festival, celebrates its 10th edition. The festival kicks off on Thursday 1 August with a discussion on child care as a form of mutual aid (in Finnish) and a screening of the 2017 documentary ”Queercore: how to punk a revolution”. Besides gigs, the weekend programme consists, as usual, of e.g. speed dating, a punk flea market, more discussions, workshops, and a vegan brunch. The celebratory nature of this summer’s festival has been taken into account e.g. by booking bands that have a connection with the past of Punx for Seitan.

All of the Desert Stories zines are available from the OulUtopia distro. Issues 1-6 have been available there since the anarchist bookfair of Riga and the latest issue "Stormy Spaces" should arrive to them this week.

OulUtopia distro has also the other Rojava related zines that Babirussa babirussa has published (plus a lot of other good and interesting stuff about Rojava).

Last sunday at the anarchist festival Musta Pispala there was a very nice film about Rojava called Belkî Sibê. It was shown in a small volunteer run library and was full packed with people.

Tommorrow will be the zine publishing event of these 3 little zines. All of them are published by Babirussa babirussa label. All of them are about Rojava and are written by people who have been there. One these is written by me (Desert Stories - Stormy Space). In the publishing event (that is held at Musta Pispala anarchist festival) there is an interview were all of us authors are interviewed. Zines are available in that event and also the next day from the anarchist bookfair.
