If we're talking about race and/or "the border," Trump is winning.
If we're talking about how he purposely divides us to fleece us for billionaires' benefit and/or freedom, we're winning.
And as @brainnotonyet has been saying, the next step is to drive home what exactly their brand of weirdness is: not benign LOTR cosplay or something, not even ambiguous sketchiness, but full-on creepiness.
Specifically, rapey creepiness.
It's weird to joke about corrective rape.
It's weird to want to inspect kids' genitals to enforce archaic notions of gender essentialism.
It's weird to want women trapped in abusive marriages.
They WANT these things to be the norms, but they simply aren't.

That would be really bad. Like, really bad.
It makes sense why journalists worry more about their jobs than democracy. Journalism has been ravaged + some of the steadiest and best-paying jobs go to the writers who print what Donald Trump wants you to think.
But the thing about a job vs. democracy is that you might be able to find another job.
How do we know that Lina Khan has done an excellent job as FTC chair?
Because billionaires and business leaders want her gone.
She's been an avid anti-trust enforcer and defender of working people.
She's also been an oligarch's worst nightmare.
The New York Times knows that crime has dropped sharply under Biden, but still feels compelled to continue the narrative that crime rates will be a big problem for Kamala Harris.
