As an observer from the UK I don't think the executive order to ban citizenship by birth in the USA is just about immigration. It is something picked to appear reasonable. If it is changed with due process by the votes by Congress and State legislatures it won't be a problem. He's hoping that backed by popular support, the stooge stuffed Supreme Court will find his executive order legal, setting a precedent. Next it will be lifetime leadership.

It's probably a minority opinion but I think the best outcome now would be a trade war with the USA. Now that America has decided to go all out on greenhouse gas emissions everything bought from them will have a high carbon cost. The best thing for the planet is to suppress American industry as much as possible, and fortunately Trump is going to cooperate.
