Today, in grotesque mimicry of Trump's failed coup on January 6, 2021, far-right supporters of previous Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro invaded the National Congress in Brasilia.

Across the world, the far right and fascists are attempting to build the capacity to seize power by force.

Background on the situation in Brazil:

Relying on the state to prevent the far right from coming to power will only strengthen the institutions that they hope to wield against us:

Billionaires and their far-right supporters are attempting to gentrify the concept of revolt itself. We must not let them appropriate or discredit the idea of rebellion:

Left Electoralism, Fascist Direct Action, and Anti-Fascist Resistance

The 2022 elections in Brazil offer a glimpse of the future as the far right reorganizes itself while the institutional left continues to bet on a collapsing social order.

@pixelcode it's important to note that the faux claim of election-fraud is not their main cause... they support a military coup for years now. Just like Bolsonaro, they want to reinstate a military dictatorship in Brazil, to "fight communism".

Also important to note the Brazilian nationalism is historically pro-USA (not only Trump fans).

Happy New Year dear fellow fedinauts!

May 2023 be gentle on us;
May we be courageous to live our lives true to ourselves.

PS:. I really enjoy the annual ritual of moving from one planner to another *-*

The worst part of OSS/any volunteer community management are the Surprise Drains On Emotional Energy, at times where you don't have any to spare.

Send love to folks who maintain your communities, they probably need it.

And welcome @chicocvenancio !!!!1
So, let's do this #introduction thing. I'm an SRE hailing from São Luís in Brazil. I've also been a wikimedian for 16 years (that's the name for member of the Wikimedia Movement, the thing behind Wikipedia).

Funny info: I watched the video, and understood all the difficult/specific words of my work field
and, like, a total amount of zero easy/common/language-structural words.

An exception was "X and Y chromosomes", haha

Tnxxxx for sharing, @M !
