1. Still need data privacy legislation, like, yesterday.

2. Solid counterpoint to the Ben Thompson article.

The most important question nobody's asking about AI

“Preface to the highest stakes negotiations in history.”

This is objectively a good thing for humanity because 1. duh 2. LLM's would only get worse if they were trained on user's deepest insecurities and daddy issues.

There's something especially satisfying about a critique of Sam Altman's moral compass based on the olive oil in his kitchen.

@antonio Technically also on Bluesky but much prefer Mastodon 👋

Another repost from Threads, but worth mentioning here too:

I’m generally anti-#AI podcast host, largely due to the fact that I think there are already too many low-quality/unneccessary podcasts in the world (like, EVERYONE has a podcast these days).

BUT, this clip is a fun listen. If it feels freaky, just remember that #LLM ‘s are basically just parrots 🦜 — this says more about the podcasts we as humans have produced and trained the model on more than anything else.

In an attempt to be on Mastodon more, sharing some cool things I had posted to Threads but feel like are worthy of the immortality of living on my profile.

First up, the news cycle has largely moved on from this but I still think the #Meta #Orion prototypes are super cool, but I also think we need to take #DataPrivacy way more seriously as a country, like, yesterday.

Meta smart glasses can be used to dox anyone in seconds, study finds

Linking Meta smart glasses to a face search engine can ID strangers in a glance.

I’m at a weird juncture where I value Mastodon for its values (better #DataPrivacy policies and #decentralization / the #Fediverse ) but it seems like the day-to-day action and quips are on Threads…

I know the horrible algorithm and rampant engagement-bait posts should be enough of a turn off, but I keep going back.

How do others interact with both Mastodon and #Threads ? Maybe I’m just doing #Mastodon wrong?

@fae2535 You make an excellent point! This is our 10 month old gal, Barley!

Hi, is this thing on? 🎤

Finally getting around to an #Introduction so here are the basics:

I'm Cali, I'm a #ProductManager for a #DataAnalytics #SaaS company. I love learning about new #Technology and am a wannabe #SoftwareDeveloper slowly learning how to code. 💻

I love going out and trying new #Food and #Drink spots. 🍻 Definitely need more #Tattoos, and want to start to #Travel more. ✈️

But mostly just hanging out with my #MiniatureDachshund.

I like meeting new people, so say "hi!" 👋
