Ok wait, there is an active Vectrex Homebrew scene?! Why did I not know about this? Really thinking about getting one now 👀
Someone into that going to #why2025 by chance?
I love my Uni, but that's just next level cute:
Ivy made it's way through the floor (!) and people just started to give it a trellis 🥹
and when I mean light, I mean 330g light 🪶
It's so light 😍 This could be super handy for my plotter setups
So, I fell a bit in love with @caranha 's awesome ultra portable monitor: VAIO Vision+! Someone has an idea if it can be purchased in the EU somewhere?

WHY Camp is only one week away!
If you want to adjust some last minute things to fit the style (like your slides maybe? Don't tell me you actually prepared them in advance!), here's the logo generator: https://design.why2025.org/

Also an imho very underrated feature: you can get a ✨ tiling ✨ star pattern with or without the logo :)

Hello everybody, we are Nils and Julian!

A while ago we came up with the idea of building a small Video Mixer / Video Sampler from a Raspberry Pi.

Why, you may ask? Well, thanks for asking! There were two reasons:

1) Because many students come into Julian's "Digital Lab" at Ernst Busch University of Theatre Arts Berlin and ask for a device to simply mix video and camera on stage.

2) It's really fun to create something like this!

We'll keep you updated!

On my way to DLR to kick off a "quantum computing and arts" project ✨

Remember when technology was actually fun? Yeah...

(Sorry, just having a bad day)

Last week was very full of adrenaline:
Got stung by a wasp on my nose(!), was called for a potential water leak in our tiny house and had some exciting phone calls.
But luckily there were also very chill moments with great food and time at the lake :3

Also: I got myself a pocket fountain pen. I'm currently testing carbon platinum ink with it. Love it so far - hope it's not gonna clog up over time.
#schnipsel

@bleeptrack I mostly stopped using pigment ink, because they require constant use and regular cleaning (every couple of months). Meanwhile, even my iron gall inks happily work without any fuzz. Even if they dry out, they hardly clog. And if they do, any clogging can be easily solved using some cleaning fluid.
@attilakinali very true. Let's see how bad the maintenance will be :D was searching for a proper waterproof ink though. But I thought iron gall also needs a cleaning now and then?

@bleeptrack IG inks don't really need cleaning. As long as you don't let the ink dry too much, there will be no flocculation. If it dries out, most often, just some rinsing and using fresh ink will do the trick. If it clogs, a tiny bit of vinegar in a glass of water will usually clear it out. Alternatively, use some ready made cleaning fluid.

If you don't need a proper waterproof ink, but only water resistant (ie remains legible after soaked in water), I can recommend the R&K and KWZ IG inks.

@attilakinali awesome, thanks for the recommendation!
@bleeptrack ah, fountain pen inks, the mother of all rabbitholes! 🐰 carbon platinum is new to me i think. i was happy to end my quest with de atramentis archival and document inks for plotter artwork last year... but inks are just so fascinating!
@bleeptrack a pocket fountain pen, you say…? Tell us more.
@andypiper it's the pocket pen 2.0 from Tom's studio :) can be configured with F,M and Semi-Flex nibs. Other cool nibs can be sold separately 😍 (architect, fude and sketching flex nibs, etc). Only downside maybe: it only takes small cartridges so no direct use of a converter possible :/ but they ship it with a cute syringe converter to fill up a small cartridge.
@bleeptrack oh, looks cool! checking that out, thanks.
