Programmer by day... programmer by night. I'm not very exciting.

@killyourfm That's the hope I cling to. I don't use my Index enough because of cables and reasons. A new headset will solve all my problems!
@killyourfm I'm unreasonably hyped about the launch. But I'm also painfully self-aware that I know that once I have them, I'll lose interest quickly. And yet hyped I remain.
@killyourfm I fully expect that when they launch, I buy 1 of everything they have, and then I get real hyped about it. And then it turns out it's just a linux computer and VR headset (which I already have) that are improvements over what I have, but not revolutionary. And then my life is better just because I'm at least no longer waiting.
@danirabbit Congrats!
I'm gonna get a Frame solely on account of it being the only bloody headset that won't treat me (a linux user) like an afterthought.

@ryanleesipes Licensing to me always seems like a cat and mouse game around intentions. Restrictions can make things more obnoxious to work with, and limit adoption. But having no limits at all primes a project to be abused by corporations.

Entities intending to abuse the openness of a project are always going to push the limits, to the detriment of good intentioned users.

@killyourfm How deeply "following" would one need to be? Ive been (very) casually using VR on Linux lately and had quite the journey to get it working over time, but my VR use goes all the way back to Oculus Rift DK1.

Not sure I have any valuable insights, but I do love to speculate and ramble.

@vkc the biggest reason i don't use dd is because i need more GUI handholding for drive annihilating operations.
I accidentally nuked my school homework partition when I was in college trying to install gentoo so I could try out compiz and the fear has stuck with me, decades later.

But that's not going to prompt me to leave weirdly aggressive comments on a youtube video frustrated that you used the right tool for the job.

@gardiner_bryant I've been living under a rock and missed all those things about DHH. Eesh.
@gamingonlinux Maybe they were prepping for the release of Steam Frame? #copium
