I've completed my guardian crossword app - it does everything I want it to. Should be a moment of satisfaction but I feel a bit sad that there's no more to do. This is why I don't like finishing things.

I'm told the picture on the front of Vance's new book about his conversion is a Methodist church. This must be deliberate.
Also, this week he straight out said he believes that UFOs are demons. WTF, America. WTF.
There's an old joke among Catholics. "Are you a Christian?" "God no, I'm Catholic."
J D Vance is a late convert, I suppose, and I've no reason to assume his conversion isn't sincere. But, he's definitely choosing his words very carefully to appeal to evangelicals. Because he doesn't sound very Catholic. Personal journeys not pilgrimages. Faith not The Faith.
Maybe he's just finding common ground but I suspect he's just as calculated and shape-shifting in this as in everything else.

@rgarner I know that there are a lot of elm-haters out there, but it's been my tool of choice for a long time. Not sure about taste, but it definitely clicks with my brain in a way that other things don't.
I've added an NYT navigation option to my better guardian crossword thingy.
If you do both crosswords daily and have trouble context-switching like me, this should help!
