@vicfroh if we had the money, that would be inflation. The trick is to make money scarce for the majority of us so it has "value" and then print and borrow gobs of it into existence for the "special" people to spend.
@timbray AI as an extension and amplification of surveillance capitalism will not go away until people, en mass, decide that thinking for themselves and learning to use technology proficiently instead of taking the easy "free as in beer" path. Things will have to get much worse to convince the average Joe that the latest device in an Ad is something to avoid and learning how to install an open system on ones own device is the way to go.
@NanoRaptor I want to try blueray M disks.
@TindrasGrove I have been happy with my Creality K1C for about a year now.
@Mrfunkedude I generally try to avoid telling the internet what to do
@leroy Freecad works for taking napkin sketches to 3d printable or laser cuttable designs, but it's not the best tool for modeling video game assets or artistic works.
@leroy I'm the same way with blender. It just wouldn't click. I have a background in machine tools where milling operations corrolate to extrudes and turning operations are analogous to revolve operations. It still took 10 years of head banging to make frecad work for me, but it has gotten much better lately.
@leroy start with mastering 2d sketches with constraints. From there you can learn simple extrudes and that will cover 90% of the basics. The assembly and multibody shennanigans are what get difficult.
@itsfoss A voluntary anonymous XMR mining based donation system which supports open source projects. Users can choose which projects to support and how many cpu cycles to dedicate. Developers can choose to participate or not.
#FreeCadFriday Finally got the motivation to resume my breakout game laser obstacle project. This module houses a red laser and an IR receiver which will bounce a signal off of a mirror. They are controlled via an arduino micro and can be daisy chained to make a game of any size.
