The reality is much more ridiculous and abominable. Money is created by the government spending it. Money is deleted by return returning the money to the treasury.

The super rich get buckets of the stuff and don’t have to return any of it. But the few pennies for us you bet we have to return a bunch of it.

@vicfroh You do realize the barrel price increased globally, even though only middle eastern exporters are affected. So there's more than the Epstein files to blame for the war. It's called insider trading.

@vicfroh if we had the money, that would be inflation. The trick is to make money scarce for the majority of us so it has "value" and then print and borrow gobs of it into existence for the "special" people to spend.
