Tomorrow nurses strike. They will be put through hell by the media, politicians and the establishment.
Ahead of the action please share this tweet if you back the nurses and find it sickening that they are being vilified.
Hi all, I'm new here, so here's an #introduction.
I'm an impact AI entrepreneur who's worked with algorithmic influence for more than a decade.
A while back, when I was running a social games startup, I realized the dangers of addicting people to games with behavioral algorithms. And then Netflix, Spotify and TikTok happened.
Ever since I've worked on algorithms for positive impact, now building healthier social with https://equelsocial.com.
I've been writing mostly on LinkedIn, but also spoken in TV, podcasts and conferences, educated media houses and governments, and built multiple products and communities.
We run a Mastodon server for entrepreneurs and professionals who want to network with their real identity at https://equel.social. We are building topic-based discovery, one-click cross-posting to LinkedIn, and many more features geared for professional networking on Mastodon.
I'm currently finishing a book titled "The Servant Influencer".
I look forward to contributing to the #fediverse!

On Twitter it took us almost 5 years to reach to 50,000 followers.
Here at Mastodon we may be able to do it within one month.

Wishing my academic colleagues in Britain and Northern Ireland all the best as they participate in important strike action starting tomorrow.
UK universities generated £41 billion in revenue last year.
And yet a third of academic staff remain on temporary contracts, academic pay is declining in real terms, pensions have been slashed, and workloads are so unreasonably high that on average, UK academics do TWO days additional work unpaid PER WEEK.
Solidarity!
Over 70,000 staff at 150 universities across the UK begin three days of strike action over attacks on pay, working conditions and pensions. The strike is the biggest in the history of higher education and UCU is predicting historic turnout on its picket lines.
So this is my second proper day of Mastodon.

It seems like it's every couple of months that a big tech company releases a language model that's supposed to do amazing things. The Allen Institute for AI's Delphi [https://https://www.aiweirdness.com/stealing-a-giraffe-from-the-zoo-only-if-its-a-really-cool-giraffe/] , whose authors said it "demonstrates strong promise of language-based commonsense moral reasoning" would judge anything
