In 2018, C. Ott, who had harassed two students at #Caltech, was hired in Turku, after a Stockholm appointment was canceled due to staff protest.

A colleague and I wrote a statement against #harassment in #astronomy and a letter to the University leadership expressing our concern. The hire was canceled.

Science reports that Ott now demands compensation and that we're also facing criminal charges. The verdict is due next week.

Hola #Astrodon community, here goes my #introduction. I'm a last yr #PhD candidate in #astronomy at Radboud University in the Netherlands. My research focuses on studying the properties of Sagittarius A*, the #blackhole in the Galactic Center, as part of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration (EHT) 📡⚫📡. I use VLBI observations and simulations for my work.
