Hi! I'm Kat, a backyard astrophotographer from #Australia.
I have been a #photographer (landscape, weddings, portraits and fine art) since 2012. I began my #astrophotography journey in 2020.
When I'm not imaging I also ❤ to camp and travel with my hubby, fish, drink beer, hike, research my ancestory, and all things medieval or regency! I have two kickarse border collies and one shithead cat!

The Pleiades (also known as Messier 45 or The Seven Sisters) is an open star cluster. At about 444 light-years from Earth, it is the nearest Messier object.

Taken with a Nikon D7500 (modified) and a #Redcat51.

I can't stop watching those #pictures of the #Earth and the #Moon from the #Orion capsule of the #Artemis mission #NASA.

It always reminds me that so many #humans, #animals, #insects, #plants, etc... are living our #home #planet and that we are almost nothing in this vast #universe.

A couple of weeks ago I doubted I could even find the planet Uranus with the Skymax 127 telescope, in a light polluted (Bortle 6) area of Belfast. Even less likely to get it to appear on a planetary camera (ASI-178) but eventually there it was last night! Uranus currently 2.8 BILLION km from Earth.
Mars looking pretty good last night good too.
