Hi! I'm Kat, a backyard astrophotographer from #Australia.
I have been a #photographer (landscape, weddings, portraits and fine art) since 2012. I began my #astrophotography journey in 2020.
When I'm not imaging I also ❤ to camp and travel with my hubby, fish, drink beer, hike, research my ancestory, and all things medieval or regency! I have two kickarse border collies and one shithead cat!

A re-edit of my Trifid Nebula data.
Took a little artistic liberty haha.
Originally captured back on 28 May 2022. It's about 3.5 Hours from my OSC.

NGC 1999 is a reflection area near the centre. It is located in the constellation Orion. It is actually very very close to the Orion Nebula and you may spot it when viewing wider field of view images of the Orion Nebula. NGC1999 is quiet interesting, the special keyhole shaped structure in the middle was once thought to be an area of space so dense with dust that nothing was visable behind it. But recent observations suggest it is actually a region of space that is completely empty!

Here's an updated image on my current project NGC1999. I recently purchased ZWO ASI Cameras 533 mono camera to pair with the colour version I already owned. So I have been able to add about 5 hours of luminance data to the 7 hours of colour data I had collected. I am hoping to get another nights worth of luminance and another hour on the colour camera using short exposures for the stars only. Hopefully this will finish it off nicely!

Just another picture of Mr Kingsley.

So Kingsley saw I had posted about Bugsy and has not stopped hounding me since to introduce him to everyone. My amazing boy Kingsley is a pure-bred blue merle border collie. He is very sooky and has to be the centre of attention or he gets full on fomo. He loves nothing more than to go for a drive or walk and especially loves cuddling. He has a few party tricks up his sleeve too!! He can play dead and does so when you pretend to shoot him. #puppy #bordercollie #doglife
Obviously I am one of the many who have recently joined 😅 and I'll probably spam your feed with my Astrophotography for the most part. But here is a picture of my shithead cat, Bugsy. He is only 5 months old and is already harness and leashed train. We are hoping he will enjoy our life of adventure as much as our two doggos do! #kitten #cutiepie #catslife
I find that there's something mesmerising about star photos!! This is Procyon.
The name Procyon comes from ancient Greek and means 'before the dog'. Named so since it precedes the dog star, Sirius, as it moves across the night sky.
Procyon is a binary star system. This means it is gravitationally bound to another star, Procyon B, a white dwarf. They orbit each other every 40 years.
Procyon is one of the closest stars to our system.

The core of the Carina Nebula 😍
This is OSC data, however because I used a narrowband filter I was able to create this HOO pallette.
