Somehow I managed to fot both axes, two books and the water bottle I received from the axe smithing course in my already full motorcycle bag.
Now Iβm off to look at more runestones.

Massive motorsport fan, mostly GT, Prototypes and somehow still F1 but struggling. Since a few years expanding my interest to motorbike racing, mostly World Superbike and some road racing and MotoGP.
Owner of a Honda CB900F (2002), Yamaha XT250 (1992) and kind of, from my late father, a Harley-Davidson 1200 Electra Glide (1974).
Agoraphobic but you can talk to me, this is the internet and you're not real probably, maybe? πΆ

Okay I'm going to bite the bullet. I am setting up a new Mastodon instance to replace Bikers.Social, which is sadly going away.
I just bought the domain name and am beginning to set up the server. π€
I'm also figuring out how to do GitHub Sponsors so I can recoup the domain cost and save up enough to move to proper servers.
New Server, new #introduction
Hi, I'm Paul. Three wonderful kids, quickly becoming wonderful adults. Living between Melton and Leicester, middle of nowhere, UK.
I lead an IT team in logistics. Interests are primarily IT and all things Bikes.
Previous bikes include a ridiculous amount of 125s, CB500, XJ660, and my beloved FJR1300.
I follow BSB, WSBK, and MotoGP, but I'll watch anything I can find. Love it all!
Welp so app.bikers.social is shutting down in a couple of months so I'm going to be migrating my moto blog over here to theATL.social
And I'm quote-tooting below because I'm sending an email over to Pops Coffee Co to encourage them to create a Mastodon account here so that I can keep up with their bike nites.
I snapped this pic at the soft opening of their new Motorrad shop this past spring β€οΈβπ₯

Pray for my taste buds, I'm finally going to risk this energy gel on my journey home. After a suitable period of warming in a jersey pocket, of course.
Went for a ride after work today. My normal journey home is ~18 milesβ¦I did 47!
The reason? Well firstly, I donβt need a reason!
Secondlyβ¦I hit a big milestone - 85,000 miles!
When I got her from the dealer back in 2015, she had ~400 miles on her. Sheβs still going strong!
β If I started a new motorcycle-focused Mastodon instance, would you use it? Would you occasionally donate a tiny amount of money?
I'm asking because this instance, Bikers.Social, is going away at the end of the month. I don't know where to migrate to and am wondering if a new instance makes sense.
Hey folks. I am switching fediverse server and merging my presences so that my alter ego becomes part of my regular ego - as if that wasn't big enough already. So, future bike-related stuff will be posted from @dan along with the linux/nix/cycling/skating/lisp/leftist-dad-politics reckons that dan@brvt.telent.net was previously posting.
I plan to do some kind of archive for the longer-form posts/threads on this account, just haven't figured out what yet. Something more discoverable than pleroma search ...
