@kagihq is often pitched as a better web search than Google search. I'm here to tell you they're so much more than that: Kagi is a better Google than Google full stop

In the aughts and '10s, google used to make cool, nerdy products and features just because they were cool and nerdy. They didn't need a better reason than that. They don't really do that anymore but it was good times

So here's the deal. Go to translate.kagi.com and choose "reddit speak" for the to: language. Do this in a desktop browser because you get a different UI. Thank me later

This is at least as cool and internet-nerdy as peak aughts Google ever was. Don't snooze on Kagi

Programming is about understanding computers.

Teaching is about understanding people.

Sometimes when I see programming experts trying to help new learners I imagine what would happen if we were a driving school:

"The gas pedal makes the car go, right?"

"Well, only if the engine is started, and not if you are out of gas, and not if the car is in neutral, and not if the car is parked against a wall, and not if the parking brake is on, and it shouldn't be called a gas pedal in an electric car, and, and, and...."

Google Analytics records bot traffic as real users — we tested it.
Plausible passed.

We created a test site, installed both GA4 and Plausible on it, and sent only bot traffic (simulating how bots visit a site in real life). The results will make GA4 users question their data.

Plausible successfully rejected the bot traffic and didn't record even a single "fake" pageview.

But Google Analytics got fooled again and again:

I’m once again asking for you to provide meaningful release notes for your apps.

Online media can be overwhelming. It's fragmented between countless services, websites, social networks, and apps.

You need an app that weaves together an overview of nearly everything that’s happening across all the different services you follow.

That’s our vision for Project Tapestry, the new Kickstarter we're launching today.
