There’s no need for Democrats to pass legislation stating that it’s unethical for a Supreme Court Justice to accept anything of value from someone who has business before the Court, or to rule on any matter involving someone who has given you something of value. That’s already unethical.

Democrats must demand the resignation of any Justice* who has done that.

Part of what makes police brutality and racism so terrible is that, unlike other risks, it can't be escaped.

I can choose a safe car to guard against crashes. I can exercise for heart health.

But there is nothing I can do to guard against racist, violent cops. Even being an attorney who is wearing a suit doesn't help, as I've been racially profiled on my way to court, and physically grabbed by courthouse security on multiple occasions.

@arealibrarian @evaristegal0is 1password derives the vault master key merging your password with a random 128bit key stored on your device. This guarantees a high entropy master key independently from the entropy of the passwords and at the same time makes it unfeasible brute-forcing the vault without the private secret key which is never sent to the cloud service. KeepassXC also allows you to work in a similar way by creating an additional random key on a file which is merged with the password. Bitwarden, just like lastpass, relies only on your password.

Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death" (1984) offers a useful metaphor for understanding the gradual process through which Elon is transforming Twitter into a right wing propaganda machine. It still feels semi-normal for now, but that's always the way changes in media ecosystems happen. But soon enough the threshold will have been passed, and it will have been long past time to leave.

A teenager in the Bronx was accused of stealing a backpack. The police arrested him.

Couldn't make bail. Would spend 2 years on Riker's island awaiting a trial.

-only for the charges to be dropped. Many were appalled, they set it up for him to go to community college. That's where I met him once- my electronics club. Made an LED Christmas tree-he seemed... so so so sad.

He took his own life later that year.

Anyways. Uh, Sam Bankman-Fried to be released on $250 million bail. #cw
