Yesterday was my last day in Minneapolis and I spent it running around the city visiting the places I wanted to go. There is another, younger, scrappier non profit with neon called CAFAC - Chicago Avenue Fire Arts Center - and it is right at George Floyd Square.

Seeing the square, and it's memorial was powerful. It seems there are daily events at the gas station- now changed into "People's way" with a campfire in the middle of the pumps and a brass band meeting up there along with about 50 other folks. 5 wood or Steel fists have been placed in the square, and the four intersections surrounding it. The spots of the incident, have been memorialized.

CAFAC has metal casting classes- and is public arts and activism oriented. Seems like they are ready (and are currently) making a very heavy, and long lasting iron, steel or bronze mark.

Their neon shop used all lead glass (out of production for 20 years. Funky- but exciting!

In 2021 Patterson bragged about beating someone so hard he broke his nightstick. In 2020 he was seen punching a George Floyd protester who was already on the ground for no reason.

Video on social media claims to show police force during Friday's protests in Seattle

Ferguson ran so far to the right on cops and wanting to spend $100 Million bucks to do it, that even the Seattle Times seemed to be calling him out on it! He kept the Best endorsement up for a year.

So when you combine the politics of increasing cops but decreasing services its hard to tell the deference between the Dems and the GOP.

Bob Ferguson takes a page out of Bill Clinton's playbook

The moves by the leading Democrat for governor are revealing about the politics of the moment. But in a time of polarized purity, does straddling still work?

The Seattle Times

People seem to have forgotten who Bob Ferguson is. Nah the man is a walking political blunder. In the year 2023 he publicly thanked Seattle Police Chief, Carmen Best for her endorsement of him.

Carmen Best is well known for teargassing broad swaths of Seattle's Capitol Hill gayborhood during the month of pride in response to peaceful George Floyd protests.

She later stepped down while Mayor Jenny Durkan faced a recall over these and other actions.

Whitlock: ‘Black pride’ TURNED Karmelo Anthony into George Floyd 2.0

On April 2, 2025, during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, a confrontation between two 17-year-old students, Karmelo Anthony from Centennial High School and Austin Metcalf from Memorial High School, turned deadly. Anthony, who was sitting in the Memorial tent instead of his own team’s t...

American corporations didn’t want to diversify, anyway

After the murder of George Floyd, many companies turned to diversity initiatives that weren’t actually designed to bring change. That’s why they’re dropping them as quickly as they created them

@angiebaby @ElleGray there's a lot of brand new protestors out here learning how to in jam up the works with the #TeslaTakedown. That energy is expanding and combining with the resistance to the student abductions and ICE #Snatchers.

#Occupy + #GeorgeFloyd + #FuckGenocide + #FuckElon + #FuckDonOld = American Revolution no.3

@MisuseCase
This thread is fully true for #SaltLake County protests in #Utah. Our people were beaten and intentionally shot by "nonlethal" rounds that still pierced the skin because the cops wanted to hurt unarmed protesters.

For months police stalked and harassed them and the prosecutors threatened them all with felonies for breaking glass, spilling paint, and even "shifting their weight" in a way cops saw as scary.

And, of course the GOP and general public believe the propaganda that the protesters "burned down cities" and "faced no consequences".
