Walking with the baby pram yesterday and a helpfully sleeping bairn let us stay nice and quiet to ID the interesting hopping birds in the bushes. Siskin and Goldcrest added to my patch list for the year. 53spp and way ahead of this time last year. Almost all #lowcarbonbirding too.
3 weeks until my new book is out 👀👇
Thought this was a good time to reflect on the commercial sales, reception, and use of it's predecessor, The Archaeology of Roman York.
^see for discussion on contract, royalties, sales, loans, references etc.
The Station in #Richmond, North Yorkshire is a former train station converted into a cafe, arts centre and cinema. It is, simply, a lovely space.
15 species this morning on my birding walk with small fry. hampered by not going able to stand still for more than 5seconds and the places I can walk with the buggy.
Still, added great black-backed gull to 2023 list for 31spp. on patch.
Gotta love a Victorian #postbox anytime.
Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings to this chap, who must have had mixed feelings about it all.

Had a short walk around the beautiful old parts of #Louth today with the bairn in pram.
It's got some great history.
