architect, writer, historian. trying to take things apart and piece them back together. in a different life a musician.
#poets and #poetrywriters: how often do you write a #poem that you think is good? Meaning, it reads true to what you tried to express/catch but also true to itself? Once a month? Once a year? And ho often do you write one at all to get to the good ones?
Any doctors out there who can explain why #antivirals seem generally a course of treatment for #influenza or #covid19 in the US@- but are only given to at risk patients in Germany?
I signed something and I am excited but also terrified and it might be all too much #lifechanges #challenges #notmuchroomforerror
If you’re someone who can always still keep going when others are falling away who‘s left when you‘re finally giving out? Asking for a friend

Why is materiality important?
In #archaeology it is an approach studying past human societies through their material remains. Materiality is the proof of human behaviours. Also, the reminder of the most awful activities.
Archaeology is key in building democratic societies.

A battery filled with algae is somehow managing to power this computer for months: https://www.newscientist.com/article/2319584-computer-powered-by-colony-of-blue-green-algae-has-run-for-six-months/

No-one's quite sure what's going on. Possibly the algae is serving as the medium catalyzing the interaction between the anode and cathode in the battery.

Except research shows the anode isn't degrading, which suggests ...

... the *algae* is producing the electrons.

Some thoughts on this in my blog post here, item 6: https://clivethompson.medium.com/lavaforming-ai-writes-heavy-metal-and-drones-that-deliver-hamburger-helper-59b9bcfda9a8

If you download your #Twitter archive it arrives wrapped as a static HTML page, which is not very useful for doing anything with, and worse: it requires the original account to be still active to do useful things like enlarge the images since they use t.co links.

So here's a #Python script to convert a Twitter archive to #markdown or other formats: https://github.com/timhutton/twitter-archive-parser

Now you can archive your tweets in any way you want.
