Anna-Maria Meister#poets and #poetrywriters: how often do you write a #poem that you think is good? Meaning, it reads true to what you tried to express/catch but also true to itself? Once a month? Once a year? And ho often do you write one at all to get to the good ones?
HRB@annassemble Nearly every poem I write has at least a pair of lines that work, do what I want, say what I want. (Often those are the lines I started with.) The rest of the poem is generally a mix of that goes from adequate to pretty okay. I complete a poem ever few weeks these days, but have a bunch of fragments that never coalesced into anything.
@hughrbeyer thank you! Yes I do find most poems I write have something that conjures up what I tried to express even years later - I figure I just don’t write enough these days….
