Wondering how accurate #AlphaFold models are?

We compared #AlphaFold predictions with experimental data. Many parts are great, but even high-confidence #AlphaFold predictions have distortions, domain movements, backbone errors, and side chain errors.

It turns out that following users in other Mastodon instances is much easier if you just click on their profiles *without* opening them in a new tab.

If you open in the current tab, Mastodon keeps you in your current instance, so you don't need to authenticate to interact with their account. However if you open in a new tab everything is forgotten.

Compulsive new-tab-openers such as myself need to learn restraint with Mastodon!

I have one open Ph.D. position to work on the structure-function relationship of membrane-inserted FGF2 oligomers using multiscale molecular dynamics simulations (MDS) guided by experimental data. We are looking for enthusiastic students with a prime interest in advanced MDS techniques and experimental studies at the interface of biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology!
