This is a commentary that I have wanted to write for a while and I am glad @PLOSBiology gave me a chance to do so. As a member of the “majority”, I never knew how to get started in DEIB. Here are some areas that I, and others in the majority, can focus on.

Members of the majority need to actively promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging

Interesting in including diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in your lab but not sure how to start? This Perspective speaks to everyone, including those in the "majority", about how to get involved.

Huge Molecules, Hitching a Ride Into Cells

#introduction.

I'm a chemistry professor at UC Irvine that specializes in inorganic chem and electrochem.

My research focuses on #electrification of the chemical industry, #decarbonization, #carboncapture, and #sustainability. Current projects on electrochemical carbon capture and utilization, but also electric fields in #catalysis and #bioinsipred systems.

I'm an #academicmom that loves cooking, running, cycling, hiking, ultimate frisbee, and ice hockey but never has enough time.

I guess I should do an #introduction

I manage research on fundamental #cancer #metabolism for that big agency in Maryland in the USA. For a kid who was a model UN nerd, caught Potomac Fever on a school trip at 18, and went on to do a PhD on transcriptional regulation of genes that control cell growth and cell cycle progression, it’s a dream job, combining the science I love best with policy. 1/

Let's get this party started #LXChemRollCall👩🏽‍🔬👨‍🔬🌎😎!

I'm an Organic chemist 👩🏽‍🔬🇲🇽. I'm interested in the design of sustainable transformations using photocatalysis. I love spending time with my family (👭🐶🏳️‍🌈) and friends(🍷🍻☕️).

“Hey @LatinXChem community! I'm Gustavo Mondragón, a 🇲🇽 Ph. D. student on its final steps passionate in #compchem, specifically in photochemistry and photophysics. I like Mountain Biking and exotic pets😁 (fun fact, I hate apples) Go @panchajaviera @KAELMEUR @joaquinbarroso !”

This is from Scientific American, earlier this month.

What looks likely to have happened in CO (being cautious bc I don't want to get ahead of the facts) is stochastic terrorism. This was predicted. It was inevitable. We have been screaming about this, in the LGBTQ+ community, and this is likely far from end, we'll see more and more, because the anti-trans rhetoric was always leading to this.
