The German word "bitte" means "please".
Combined with other words, it means more:
Bittebitte! (expandable by as many "bitte" as you want) = Prettyplease!
Wie bitte? = Say what?
Bitteschön (literally: pleasenice) = There you are.
Bittesehr (pleasevery) = There you are.
Na, bitte! = Told you so.
Also bitte! = Stop that!
Aber bitte doch! = Go ahead!
Bitte was? = That's impossible.
WIE BITTE?! = ARE YOU F*CKING SERIOUS?!

#Introduction time I guess! Thanks @jaz for the leg-up!
We're Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, a group of volunteers ready to help walkers and climbers on and around #YrWyddfa (previously known as #Snowdon).
We are the busiest volunteer #mountainrescue team in the UK and possibly even Europe?
We were called out 237 times in 2021 which led to 170 deployments in all weathers.
When following back people here, I’m noticing a lot of people haven’t posted anything yet.
If you can’t think of anything to write just yet, then do consider just reblogging (=retweeting!) good content that you see around. You could start with this post, for example, to encourage more people to start sharing content around here.
BTW, as we get the Bylines publications going on here, that will provide ample good news content for the community. 👍👍
UPDATE: Here's the latest chart.
We're now at 14,000 new users joining per hour.
By the end of the night, we might have 7 million Mastodon users.
Mastodon feels like the good ol' days of the net. And at that time I created a website, specifically to meet people at a gig, that somehow spawned an all night beach party that over 300 people attended including a very notable musician who played a free set.
I of course missed the party as I lost track of time and hung with some DJs I'd never met instead.
📈 ‼️ Well, that escalated quickly.
To paraphrase Max Boyce, "10,000 instant Mastodons"
