Das hat sich dann auch erledigt. Die Person im BMI, die das Rundschreiben vom 18.7. verfasst hatte, in dem die Anzahl der Vornamen nach SBGG nicht änderbar sei, „konkretisiert“ bzw korrigiert diese Rechtsauffassung:

  • Familienministerium (BMFSFJ, Lisa Paus) und Bundesjustizministerium (BMJ, Marco Buschmann) haben dem BMI noch mal erklärt, was „Selbstbestimmung“ ist und wie das Gesetz gedacht ist
  • Die Anzahl der Vornamen ist durch SBGG änderbar(1)
  • „Diese Hinweise“, also die Rundschreiben des BMI, sind in keiner Weise bindend oder eine offizielle Auslegung des Gesetzes.
  • Falls sich Standesämter dennoch quer stellen, muss ggf geklagt werden („im Einzelfall von der Rechtsprechung zu klären“)

    • Insgesamt viel Aufruhr wegen einer einzelnen, nicht durchdachten Überlegung.

    Für die Bestimmung der Vornamen nach § 2 Abs. 3 SBGG sind die für die Anzahl der Vornamen allgemein gültigen Grundsätze anzuwenden (1). Dies bedeutet eine Höchstgrenze von maximal fünf Vornamen. Innerhalb dieses Rahmens kann die Anzahl der Vornamen im Zuge der Erklärung nach
    § 2 SBGG verändert (d. h. erhöht oder verringert) werden.

    Die Auslegung der Bestimmungen des SBGG im Einzelfall wird letztlich von der Rechtsprechung zu klären sein.

    Bei diesen Hinweisen handelt es sich um nicht rechtsverbindliche Empfehlungen für die Rechtsanwendung.

    I talked to my landlord and as long as I can come up with roughly 250€ more I got him off my back for the next couple of weeks. Still stressful to come up with the rest for the following month, but it buys me time

    @hannah I woke up to dark clouds gathering above the arco-tower: seeded by corporate particulate, meant to reduce greenhouse emissions for real this time, and they tell me we need the rain.

    Somehow it's always raining. It runs down the gutters; it leaks through the post-brutalist concrete. At least the chickens don't seem to mind: I keep a few in a coop on the balcony, it's as free-range as you can get in this economy.

    I keep 'em for the company, and for the eggs. I had one with my morning granola: hard-boiled, about how I was feeling this morning.

    But I knew my day was really about to go to shit when I got a call on my oat milk.

    Of course I picked up. You have to, in this economy. The voice on the line was familiar, and I thanked my stars he hadn't wanted a video call: my hair was a disaster, and I'd've had to transfer the call to a box of quinoa in the pantry.

    "Beth, we got a situation" he said. "How soon can you get down to the wind farm?"

    What else could I do? I took the job. My name is Clarissabeth Clearwater, and I'm the only private eye in this solarpunk metacommune: and even in the future, someone has to roll up their sleeves and dig through the compost.
